Northern Lights
The newspaper said they made an appearance last night,
Like a ghost in my deep sleep,
Lit up the northeast skies around Chardon
A dancing sheet of color in the black night.
Will I ever see these lights?
It’s like seeing the face of God
The green flash at sunset
A bobcat in the night woods . . . .
I feel like Thomas—
“Let me put my hands in the wounds
Or I will not believe!”
O Northern Lights
Aurora Borealis,
Let me dance with you
Some lonely winter night.
